POLICE say they want "to visit every part of the county" with a new fraud roadshow.

North Yorkshire Police announced on Wednesday that a team of dedicated officers, PCSOs and volunteers will visit all 16 neighbourhood policing areas in the region by the end of the year, to help inform and warn residents about the dangers of fraud.

Community groups and organisations which support the elderly and vulnerable can also request a visit from the force, to deliver fraud prevention sessions and answer any questions.

Detective Inspector Jon Hodgeon, head of the Major Fraud and Economic Crime Unit said: "Tackling fraud and protecting the most vulnerable people in our society is a key priority for North Yorkshire Police. Whilst these heartless fraudsters are becoming more and more sophisticated in the way that they deceive people, it only takes a few simple preventative measures to stay safe and protect those that you care about."
