AN ELDERLY woman was rescued and given oxygen therapy after a fire broke out at her flat in East Yorkshire early this morning (May 24).
Firefighters were called to the incident on Marton Gate, Bridlington, at 1.10am.
The fire involved newspapers in a kitchen fire place which damaged electrical cabling and water pipes and caused serious smoke logging in the flat.
Firefighters rescued an elderly woman inside the flat and gave her oxygen therapy before leaving her with paramedics.
