A FIRST World War bi-plane from the Yorkshire Air Museum near York is being transported to Paris to go on display at a temporary exhibition in Les Invalides, the 17th century hospital, courtyard and cathedral and home to the tomb of Napoleon.
The exhibition is part of Centenary celebrations marking the formation of the RAF and 100 years of cooperation between it and the French Air Force. Museum director Ian Reed said: "This will be the first time that a UK museum, indeed any museum, has undertaken a display of this kind in perhaps the most prestigious location in France, where many State occasions take place.”
