A MAN has been arrested after a “large amount” of suspected cannabis was found during a stop check of a car in Selby.

The Peugeot car was stopped on Baffam Lane on Wednesday evening.

North Yorkshire Police said a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle without insurance and production of a Class B drug. He remains in police custody.

North Yorkshire Police’s Operational Support Unit wrote on Twitter: “The driver of this vehicle in Selby didn’t bother to insure it. He also confessed to having ‘a bit of cannabis’ in the car. Searched and large amount of cannabis found.”
