YORKSHIRE Water is challenging the public to help it take one million plastic bottles out of circulation over the next three years.
They want people to stop buying bottled water and turn to tap water instead in a bid to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
The company is encouraging York businesses to sign up to its Refill Yorkshire campaign and have free water stations on their premises.
A free Refill app is available to download, which allows businesses to add themselves, and help people find their nearest refill station.
Already signed up in York are Rafi’s Spicebox, The Cosy Club, Brewdog and all Costas, Premier Inns, Starbucks and Wetherspoons.
