BUDDING actors are celebrating exam success at Terrington Hall after pupils achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

Students from year three to year eight racked up 10 distinctions and four merits in their Trinity College Individual Acting tests.

The youngsters are taught by drama coach and actress Audrie Woodhouse, who said: “It has been a privilege working with Terrington’s drama students, encouraging them to develop their own distinctive voice and style and seeing each shine in their own unique way.

“Of course, so much more is gained than acting skills.

"Confidence in oneself and one’s own voice, whether in performance, public speaking or even in our daily conversation is both empowering and liberating. These life-enhancing skills will be carried forward by the children for the rest of their lives. This is what makes coaching drama students so rewarding.

“It is especially pleasing to see drama well supported within school. The children have many opportunities to deploy their performance skills, whether in the termly stage productions and concerts, or in the smaller music and drama recitals throughout the school year.”

Headmaster Stephen Mulryne added: "The fact that four of our current crop of 10 senior school scholarships were awarded for drama is testament to the quality of Ms Woodhouse’s teaching and to the strength of the performing arts department under the leadership of Ryan O’Ehley.”
