SCARECROWS are springing up around parts of York for what has become a traditional bank holiday weekend past-time.
Money raised from the Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church Scarecrow Festival which takes place from 10am each day, from Saturday until Monday, will go to Christian Aid, the Special Care Baby Unit at York Hospital, Oaken Grove Community Centre and Wigginton old school.
For details, follow them on twitter – @HWScarecrowFest.
A scarecrow trail can also be found in Dunnington, with maps and refreshments available from the Tower Room of St Nicholas Church from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Monday, and from noon to 3.30pm on Sunday.
