A BEDROOM was badly damaged by fire at a house in York.
Fire crews were called to the fire on Troutbeck, in Woodthorpe, shortly before 8pm yesterday (April 30) and put out the fire.
A North Yorkshire fire service spokesman said no-one was inside the house at the time and a neighbour alerted the fire service.
The bedroom sustained "extensive fire damage" and there was smoke logging to the first floor, the spokesman added.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using a hose reel. They also used small tools and ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
