A FOOTBALL club's plans for a new two-storey clubhouse, seated terraces, an office building and floodlighting have been given the go-ahead.
Harrogate Town's scheme for the site on Wetherby Road will increase the capacity of the ground from 2,800 to about 5,000.
The club has also recently installed a 3G pitch as part of their ambitions to get promoted to the National League. In order to do this they must upgrade facilities to meet FA requirements.
Managing director of the club Garry Plant said: “The football club has been at the heart of the Harrogate community for nearly 100 years.
"We are delighted that the planning committee supported this sensitively designed scheme which will help us achieve our ambitions.
"The club is committed to delivering a high quality facility that the local community can be proud of.”
