A BENEFIT gig at a York pub in aid of the lead singer of cult band Cardiacs has won a major boost.

Musicians from across the UK are heading to the Fulford Arms in Fulford Road for the concert on Friday, which organisers hope will raise thousands of pounds for Tim Smith, who needs funds for treatment after being left with severe brain damage following a heart attack in 2008.
