ROAD closures will take place on the A64 this week as part of Highways England improvement works.

A 40mph speed limit has been put in place on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways between Bramham and Askham Bryan until May for barrier renewal work. The project is due to be completed by the middle of summer.

The A64 between Tadcaster and Headley Bar westbound will be shut overnight from today, Monday, until Sunday, from 8pm to 6am for repairs.

And the road will be closed between Staxton roundabout and Seamer in both directions from tonight between 8pm to 6am until Saturday so urgent resurfacing work can take place.

Diversions will be signposted.
