THREE people were injured and taken to hospital after a crash on the A19 south of York last night.
Police were called to the collision at Escrick at about 9.25pm, along with fire and ambulance crews.
It involved a white Honda CRV and a green Vauxhall Insignia, North Yorkshire Police said.
The force has confirmed that a 28-year-old woman, who was trapped in one of the vehicles, was taken to York Hospital after she was cut free by firefighters with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old man was taken to York Hospital with a suspected broken sternum, the force added.
It also said that a 21-year-old man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with what was believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed and opened at 10.45pm.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information, including dash-cam footage, that could help with inquiries is asked to phone North Yorkshire Police on 101 and speak to the Force Control Room.
