POLICE say an investigation into a stabbing in York city centre is ongoing - but no arrests have been made.
Police were called just before midnight on Wednesday to a report that a man had been stabbed in Walmgate.
The man, who in his 30s, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, and was treated at York Hospital, North Yorkshire Police said.
Police cordoned off a stretch of pavement in Walmgate while forensic inquiries were carried out.
No arrests have so far been made, North Yorkshire Police confirmed.
On Thursday a police spokesperson said the force was aware the incident would cause concern among residents and officers would be conducting patrols in the area to "provide reassurance to the local community".
