A RAFFLE held at The Joseph Rowntree School in York has raised hundreds of pounds for the Hospice@Home service run by the local St Leonard's Hospice.
One of the school's teaching assistants, Barry Cornforth, ran the raffle, which involved staff bringing in unwanted Christmas presents re-wrapped so no-one knew what prizes they were winning.
There were a total of 60 prizes.
The event raised £360 and a cheque for this sum has been presented to the hospice, in Tadcaster Road, York.
Mr Cornforth said: "They really appreciated the donation and it was just a small thank you for all the hard work they do day in and day out to provide palliative care for their patients."
