A MAN has been arrested for alleged drug and weapon offences in York.
Officers sped to Walmgate in three police vans at 9.30am, where a 37-year-old York man was arrested and searched in the street before being transported from the scene.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs, possessing a razor blade in a public place, and affray."
The spokesman said the man remained in custody, and the arrest was in no way connected to the earlier incident in which a man was stabbed in Walmgate.
