YORK Croquet Club has hosted a day of croquet for players from York and all three Ridings who came together for a special tournament in aid of Downs Syndrome Association.
Players wore imaginative permutations on the common theme of green and raised £120 for the charity.
Debbie James, a member of York Croquet Club, said: “As well as being a very worthwhile day, the tournament was a splendid launch for the new croquet season.
“This was the first event of its kind, played in a spirit of friendly rivalry, and everybody who took part would like to see it become a regular annual event.”
