A DARK comedy by actor and writer Bella Heesom is set to be performed at York Theatre Royal.

My World Has Exploded A Little Bit explores the playwright's "absurdly logical" reaction to the death of her parents.

The play is billed as a blend of true story and farce, told through a 17-step guide to bereavement.

The show includes projections of delicate sketches and a live piano score.

Bella performs in the production and is joined by actor and musician Eva Alexander, as well as director of Olivier Award-winning Rotterdam by Jon Brittain and Always Orange by Fraser Grace at the RSC, Donnacadh O'Briain.

The show has been praised for its honesty and energy.

It featured in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2016.

The production was also part of the programme at Vault Festival and went on a nationwide tour in 2017.

The event takes place in the studio at the Theatre Royal on April 28.

The performance starts at 7.45pm on April 28 and tickets cost £12.50.
