A STUDENT from The Mount School in York has won a runner-up prize in The Big Bang Young Scientists & Engineers Competition, aimed at recognising and rewarding young people’s achievements.
Sophie Search, who created a riding aid for a disabled horse riding group, was one of more than 500 finalists from across the country selected to show their ideas at The Big Bang Fair, with ten shortlisted to pitch Dragon’s Den-style to a panel of VIP judges.
She said: "Achieving this recognition for our work when there were so many amazing projects in the running is wonderful.”
