BRIDES and grooms to be looking for inspiration for their big day should think about booking another significant date in their diaries.

The Hospitium, in York Museum Gardens, is hosting a free wedding fair on Sunday, April 8, between 11am and 3pm.

The fair promises all the latest wedding trends and will have displays from 20 wedding suppliers from around the region, all handpicked by the Hospitium’s nationally recognised weddings team.

These include photographers, florists, wedding cars, musicians and entertainers, as well as bridal wear, and hotels and accommodation.

Other stall holders at the event will include hair and make-up, photo booth hire and venue styling.

The Hospitium’s in-house caterers, Bradshaws, will also be demonstrating their latest packages, which include a cookie bar and a doughnut bar, and will discuss new drink options such as gin cocktails and “pimp your prosecco” stations.

Weddings and events manager, Jennifer Chadwick, said: “We have put together a fantastic list of some of our most popular and talented suppliers for people to come and meet face to face and chat about their big day.”

And if you’re still deliberating on a venue for the big day, you could find inspiration in the Hospitium itself, which is licensed to hold weddings and civil ceremonies.

Located close to the city centre, the 14th-century, two-storey listed building is set in the museum’s grounds, overlooked by the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey.

All funds raised by weddings

at the Hospitium are put towards the care of the buildings and

collections at York Art Gallery,

the Yorkshire Museum, York Castle Museum and St Mary’s, all of which are in the care of York Museums Trust.

Jennifer Chadwick said: “Whether you are simply starting your wedding planning journey or have already booked, our award-winning team will be on hand to answer any questions about our beautiful venue, to discuss how we can make sure your wedding is the one you have always dreamed about.”
