THE annual Giant Easter Egg Hunt took place in Rufforth on Saturday.
Almost 50 giant Easter eggs were created and decorated by villagers and placed outside their homes and in the church, many with an Easter theme, others with jokes or puns around the word 'egg'.
Rufforth School was the headquarters for the day, and organisers praised "a small army of volunteers", who "were constantly busy satisfying the demands for hot cups of tea and coffee to visitors".
All funds raised will go to village charities including the Rufforth preschool, and organisers also thanked the sponsors for the event.
