A PEDESTRIAN has suffered a fractured pelvis and lower back in an accident with a car on a main road in York.
North Yorkshire Police said the accident happened at about 2.50pm yesterday afternoon in Tadcaster Road, Dringhouses, near The Horseshoe.
A spokesman said a 40-year-old woman from London was crossing the road when she was in collision with a blue Vauxhall Astra being driven by a 69-year-old York man.
He said she was taken by road ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary
The road was closed in both directions for more than two hours, with traffic diverted, before re-opening at 4.56 pm.
He said the incident was still under investigation and appealed for any witnesses to phone 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Ian McKenzie, quoting rerefence 121 800 50328.
