A59 closed by rush hour accident
A collision involving two cars closed the A59 for nearly an hour in North Yorkshire this evening.
Lengthy queues built up either side of the A1(M) junction with the York to Harrogate following the accident near Allerton Park.
At one stage they stretched from the northern end of the Harrogate bypass to Cattal crossroads.
Police closed the road shortly after 5pm and opened it shortly before 6pm. Queues are now easing.
