A "FESTIVAL of York Central" is due to launch on Monday, and the masterplan for the project will be unveiled.

The masterplan will go on display at an exhibition at the National Railway Museum (NRM) from Wednesday, March 21 until Friday, April 27.

On top of that, the My Future York team will be hosting a series of events for their My York Central project, including walking tours, workshops and speaking events. Over the six week festival, feedback will be collected and used to inform the progression of the masterplan, and the future planning application.

The NRM exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 6pm, with staff on hand to answer questions from Wednesday to Friday next week, and then every Tuesday 11am to 1pm, Thursday 2.30pm - 5.30pm, and Saturday 11am - 3pm.

Tamsin Hart-Jones, project lead from York Central Partnership, said they wanted more people to join in at what is an exciting point for the project.

"There are some key topics we would like to capture people’s feedback on, as well as lots of areas where we would like to encourage everyone to share their ideas and aspirations for the site, as they can have a real influence on how the project develops.

“We want people to come along, see our thoughts and plans so far and tell us what they think makes a good place to live, work and socialise.”

Visitors can leave feedback online at www.yorkcentral.info throughout the festival and questionnaire forms will be available at the exhibition. The full programme will be available at www.myyorkcentral.org.
