TWO watches of "sentimental value" were stolen from a home in a village between York and Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police said the burglary took place in Hunsingore between 10am and 3.30pm last Saturday.
The two watches are a Breitling Watch with a white face and silver strap and a Tag Heuer 2000 series executive watch with a cream / pear coloured face and silver strap.
A police spokesman said: "Both of these were gifts which hold a sentimental value to the family.
"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"In particular, we are appealing for information about two men who were seen acting suspiciously at the time within the village."
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should phone North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Quita Passmore, or email quita.passmore@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
