A NURSE manager from York is heading to Buckingham Palace today to meet the Prince of Wales.
Cheryl Lythgoe, of Priory Medical Group, has been invited to a reception hosted by Prince Charles to honour frontline nurses.
Cheryl, who was nominated for her efforts in frontline nursing and ‘workforce transformation,’ said she initially thought the invitation was a practical joke when she had received it at work and opened the envelope. “I looked to see who was chortling in the background,” she said.
“Then when I looked again at the envelope – which had the royal crest on it – it was one of those heart-stopping moments where you realise, actually, this is real.”
