FIRE crews have returned to the scene of a Pickering fire to damp down 'hotspots'.
The initial fire, in an outbuilding on Eastgate, was reported just before 5am on Sunday morning.
Four fire engines from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Malton and an 'aerial ladder platform' from Scarborough attended the building, which was believed to be derelict.
They stayed until 2.40pm that day, damping down and using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
A fire spokesperson said the cause of that fire was "believed to be electrical."
Last night at 6.30pm, after reports of smouldering in the timber beams, crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside returned to the building.
They used axes to cut out the hot timber and doused the beams in water.
