A HOTEL guest has lost his career because he dragged his partner out of their room into the corridor by her hair in the early hours, York magistrates heard.
Another guest tried to stop Daron Kelly when he saw what the long-serving nurse was doing at the central York hotel, said Phil Morris, prosecuting.
When Kelly told him: “It’s none of your business”, the second guest called police.
Kelly, 55, pleaded guilty to assault.
His solicitor Liam Hassan said his conviction meant that he would lose his job as a nurse after decades working as a psychiatric, senior and agency nurse.
Kelly, of Woodcroft Close, Annitsford, North Tyneside, was fined £132 with a £30 statutory surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Mr Hassan said Kelly and his partner had argued during a visit to York on February 11. He had walked away from the argument at one stage but it had continued.
He didn’t want to sleep in the same room as her, so dragged her into the corridor.
