Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on the A59 near Kirk Hammerton on Saturday.
North Yorkshire Police said a Ford C-Max and a Nissan Note were involved in the crash at about 12.30pm, and ambulances were also sent to the scene.
The carriageway was blocked, but a police spokesman said nobody had been seriously hurt in the incident, although five people in the vehicles had been affected by shock.
