AT least three people have been arrested after a night of alcohol-fuelled incidents in York.
One police spokesman said this morning that North Yorkshire Police officers had worked "an extremely demanding shift" in York on Friday, "with lots of alcohol fuelled violent incidents dealt with in the city centre".
Posting on social media, the police constable also said three people had been arrested on suspicion of robbery following "a very quick response to a serious incident in the city centre".
These incidents followed dramatic scenes at a pub in Goodramgate early on Friday evening, which saw armed response officers arrest a man who was allegedly carrying a gun.
The pub - which police have so far refused to name - was evacuated, and a 37-year-old man was arrested inside by officers from North Yorkshire Police's Firearms Unit on suspicion of possession of a firearm at just after 6pm.
He remains in police custody at this time.
More to follow.
