BUSINESSES in the Hambleton area have been urged to get involved with the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire.
About 400 companies in the area will receive a postcard from the district council this week listing its ‘ten top tour tips’, including getting staff up to speed so they can talk to customers about the race, dressing businesses in yellow and blue, adapting opening times to coincide with the event, being ready for bookings and working together.
Iaen Bell, owner of Venture Cycles in Thirsk, said: "The race will be an enormous boost for Hambleton – everyone should work together to increase the profile of the district. This is an amazing coup – the race will bring top riders to our district for the third time."
