A TILL and a "considerable amount" of cash have been stolen from a fish and chip shop in a North Yorkshire village.
North Yorkshire Police said the theft happened at Byram Fisheries, in Byram Park Road, Byram, in the Selby district, in the early hours of last Thursday morning.
A spokesman for the force explained: "Burglars kicked a hole in the shop’s door and took the till, a considerable amount of cash and several other items from inside the premises.
"The till was later found empty at the end of Byram Park Road."
Officers have launched a full investigation and are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any other information to phone North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Tim McGreevy, or email tim.mcgreevy@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
