BUSINESSES in Foxwood are being invited to a dementia awareness session.
As Alzheimers Society Dementia Friends information and awareness session will be held on Monday, February 26 at 7pm at Acorn Rugby League Club on Thanet Road, York.
Businesses can get advice on how they can help customers who have dementia, and they can sign up to the Dementia Action Alliance and be listed on their website as well as being registered with Dementia Friends.
The business will also be provided with a sticker for their premises.
Shirley Gumley, chairman of Foxwood Residents Association said: "Dementia is a terrible disease and many of us will know someone who is suffering.
"The Foxwood Residents Association wanted to do something positive to help in our local community and we have had a good reception from those businesses we have talked to about this event. We hope that many will take up the offer of coming along to this free event which should last about an hour."
