NOEL Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are to play Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer.

The former Oasis guitarist will make a return visit to the East Coast amphitheatre on July 6 after the High Flying Birds' sold-out show there on August 3 2016 on their Chasing Yesterday tour.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on February 21 at scarboroughopenairtheatre.com, in person from the Scarborough Open Air Theatre box office, in Burniston Road, or the Discover Yorkshire Coast Tourism Bureau in Scarborough Town Hall, or on 01723 818111 or 01723 383636.

Last year, Gallagher enjoyed his record-breaking tenth successive number one album and third with the High Flying Birds, after releasing Who Built The Moon? in November on Sour Mash Records.

Produced by DJ, producer and composer David Holmes, it debuted in the top spot and achieved gold status in less than a fortnight, following 2011's self-titled debut and 2015's Chasing Yesterday to the peak while also spawning the singles It's A Beautiful World and Holy Mountain.

From this month, Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are embarking on a Stranded On The Earth World Tour 2018/19, performing shows in North America and Europe, followed by British and Irish arena dates in the spring, including the sold-out Leeds First Direct Arena on May 7.

The Scarborough show is presented by Cuffe and Taylor, whose director Peter Taylor said: "We are thrilled Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are heading back to Scarborough Open Air Theatre this summer. Noel’s show here in 2016 was amazing and this is quite simply going to be one of the highlights of 2018.

"Who Built The Moon? is a stunning piece of work and, when played alongside the many unmistakable anthems from Noel’s career, this is simply going to be a night no-one will want to miss."
