HOUSEBUILDERS helped youngsters make bespoke homes for wildlife when they visited an infants school.

Year 1 pupils at Stamford Bridge Infants School received packs to make birdhouses and bird feeders for their gardens from David Wilson Homes,

They also learnt how to identify different birds and to meet their needs throughout the year.

Bella Bowes, Year 1 Teacher, said: “We’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for putting together the activity packs for the classes.

"It’s really important that the children learn about local wildlife and how we can help species thrive. The pupils had a lot of fun making their bird feeders and we’re excited to see what kind of birds they will be able to spot throughout the year.”

Leonna Hardcastle, sales manager at David Wilson Homes’ nearby Saxon Gate development said: “David Wilson Homes is committed to supporting the environment around the areas in which it builds, and has a lengthy relationship supporting the RSPB."

The visit was inspired by the bird charity's Big Garden Birdwatch in the last weekend of January.
