PROTESTORS have taken part in two slow walks in front of vehicles near a controversial fracking site.
Six people walked in front of a tanker and a van along Habton Road, Kirby Misperton, from 1pm to 1.20pm yesterday.
Earlier in the day, from 9.15am to 9.35am, about three people held a similar protest as they walked in front of vehicles entering the site.
Police liaison officers ensured everyone was safe, and local traffic was able to pass by the protest.
It follows Third Energy’s announcement that it is removing some equipment as it waits for formal Government approval.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed its 'neighbourhood policing' approach at Kirby Misperton will continue.
Superintendent Alisdair Dey said: "We will continue to work with people on all sides of the issue, minimising disruption to the local community and ensuring protest activity is peaceful and safe.
"Whenever possible we reduce the number of officers at Kirby Misperton, and redeploy them to policing duties elsewhere in North Yorkshire."
