SONGS from Disney films will be performed at a concert raising money for the NSPCC.

The NSPCC's Dunnington Committee will host the event on Saturday, February 24, from 7.30pm, at the Billage Hall in Stockton on the Forest.

The concert will be the ninth and last to be arranged by singing and drama coach Margaret Berg, and will bring the total funds raised over the years to just over £20,000.

The series of concerts began in 1984 to mark the 100th anniversary of the NSPCC, and over the years hundreds of Margaret Berg’s students who have since gone onto have professional singing careers have given their time to perform.

Margaret said: "We want to finish these musical concerts on a high so have chosen some of the most popular hits from firm favourite genres such as the 60s, Disney classics and the world of musicals. It promises to be a night of song and laughter whilst raising funds for such an important cause."

Elaine Kaye, NSPCC fundraising manager, said: "I’d like to thank Margaret and her fellow volunteers for thinking of the NSPCC and the children and young people we help in Yorkshire and across the UK, and for dedicating their fundraising to help us be there for this and the next generation."

Tickets cost £13, including a glass of wine or soft drink, and are available by phoning 01904 491604 or 07971874369.
