SHERIFF Hutton bridge over the River Foss will be closed for a week next month, for maintenance.
North Yorkshire County Council will be carrying out major work on the bridge, over the River Foss on the Strensall to Sheriff Hutton road from Monday, February 6.
Preparation work will start that week using two-way traffic lights and during half-term, February 10 to 18, the bridge will be closed with a diversion via Strensall and Flaxton. Local councillor Caroline Goodrick apologised for the inconvenience, and urged drivers to take care at the Scotchman Lane junction on the A64.
