THE date for this year’s Copmanthorpe Carnival has been announced.
The carnival will be held on Saturday, July 7, in the grounds of the village’s Sports and Recreation Centre.
Gates open at 11.30am with entertainment starting from noon and a later finish than in recent years of 6pm.
Alan Murray, one of this year’s organisers, said: “The organising committee have chosen a theme not only to celebrate all the great, courageous and life-saving work of our emergency services do but that of our wonderful NHS who commemorate its 70th year.”
Organisers are still offering businesses the chance to advertise in the carnival programme - which will see 4,000 copies produced.
Pitches are also available for members of the public or local groups or businesses to host their own stall.
Entry costs £5 in advance and £7 on the day for all adults.
Teenagers, between 14 and 16, pay £5 and under-14s go free.
Anyone interested in finding out about advertising or booking a stall is asked to email info@copmanthorpecarnival.org.uk or visit the Copmanthorpe Carnival Facebook page.
