PASSENGERS on all First York buses will be able to make contactless payments by bank card or mobile for their journeys from Sunday.
York’s biggest bus operator says it wants to make paying for bus travel easier and its move follows a trend for more than half of purchases made in the UK to be made by card payments rather than cash.
A spokesman said customers would not need to worry about having the right change for their bus fare, with a huge impact on boarding times which would speed up bus journey times.
