A DOUBLE decker bus was badly damaged by fire yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the blaze spread from the engine compartment of the bus in Throxenby Lane, Newby, Scarborough, and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished it with two hoses.
Another vehicle was slightly damaged on the A19 at Ellerbeck by a fire, which was out on the arrival of firefighters.
Crews also went to premises in Bootham, York, after dust in a detector head set off a fire alarm.
