A HEWORTH fundraiser, who is doing daft dares for charity has reached her target - but she still needs your help.

Katie Thompson, who is running the London marathon for Deafblind UK, hit on the idea of raising money and awareness by undertaking crazy challenges.

So far, Katie, 28, has been asked to complete stunts such as eating five Scotch Bonnet peppers and bursting into a rendition of Circle of Life from The Lion King in a supermarket.

She has had thousands of views on social media and Youtube - with her impromptu performance of Black Box hit Ride on Time (also in a supermarket) attracting 83,000 hits.

Katie has been overwhelmed with the response, saying: "I'm incredibly grateful for all the interest and generosity this campaign has received. I've had a great time raising the money."

Deafblind UK, which helps to combat loneliness for those suffering hearing and visual impairments, are also thrilled.

Training now takes priority, but after reaching her goal of £1,500 so quickly, Katie's friends have challenged her to double it, which means that she is still accepting dares.
