A DRIVER was arrested near York after police stopped a car with eight pairs of suspected stolen wellies in it.
After using ANPR technology, police pulled over a grey Vauxhall Zafira at 5.40am today close to the Hopgrove roundabout, as it was travelling east on the A64.
Officers found eight pairs of new ‘Crane’ wellies in the car.
Police have urged anyone who thinks they are missing them to phone 101.
A 49-year-old man from Filey was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and currently remains in police custody.
