A FORMER Selby bus driver, John Eastwood, has been elected President of Ye Fraternitie Of Olde Selebians.
Mr Eastwood is a keen motorcyclist and was a member of Barlby and Osgodby Parish Council for twenty years.
He joined the group eight years ago, and said his chosen charity for fundraising during his term in office, will be Epilepsy Action.
Mr Eastwood said: “I am looking forward to my year as president, and raising lots of money for my charity.”
The organisation was founded in 1921 with an aim to promote and develop the welfare of Selby and its residents, and is open to residents who live within five miles of Selby Abbey
and are aged over 30.
He succeeds former president Bob Crossland in the
role, who is pictured here above presenting him with his chain of office.
