THE owner of a pair of peafowls called Mika and Keka has appealed for help in finding them after they went missing from her garden.

Sara-Louise Aspinall said she woke up today to find Keka, an Indian Blue peacock, and Mika, an Indian Blue Cross Pied peahen, had disappeared and she feared they had been stolen.

She said there were broken branches on an oak tree in which they roosted, implying someone had climbed up or thrown items up to get them down.

She said they were in the garden of her animal rescue sanctuary, Sweet Peas & Butterflies in Long Lane, Cawood, but were her pets rather than having been rescued - her rescued creatures included turkeys, geese and goats. She had had Mika since 2016 and Keka for about three months but they were a 'couple.'

She added she had reported their disappearance to the police, and appealed for anyone seeing them to phone her on 07718 209986.
