EMPLOYEES at York health and wellbeing organisation Benenden have raised more than £2,600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Throughout 2017, staff from across all departments joined together to raise the cash through dragon boat racing, coffee drinking, cake baking, bag packing, football playing, survey taking, Christmas raffles, and even sock monkey making.
In total, they raised £2,632, which is enough to provide 94 hours of vital support from Macmillan nurses and healthcare professionals.
Nicola Taylor, corporate social responsibility and engagement coordinator at Benenden, said: "We are delighted to have raised so much money, my colleagues have given their all to help people affected by cancer.
"We know that the funds will be put to good use by Macmillan Cancer Support and as an organisation with healthcare at its heart, we couldn’t be happier to support such a wonderful charity.”
Sarah Child, fundraising manager for Macmillan in York, added; "We are truly grateful to each and every Benenden employee for their support this year, they have embraced fundraising and the funds will make a real difference here in York, where around 4,600 people are living with and beyond cancer."
