MAY I, on behalf of York Against Cancer, thank everyone who supported our recent pop-up Christmas shop in York city centre?
The shop, in the former Jones Bootmaker store in Pavement, sold a magnificent £31,041.90 of brand-new goods and Christmas cards during the festive season – an average of £886.91 for each and every day of trading.
All the profits from the shop will go towards our work in local cancer care, research and education, so we are sincerely grateful to everyone who made the achievement possible, from the customers who visited us to the volunteers who ran the shop on our behalf.
We’re also indebted to Philip Thake of the York Conservation Trust and Rosie Crux of agents Barry Crux & Co for making such a wonderful location available to us, and to Maxine Gordon and The Press for a fantastic article about the shop, which we are sure contributed to our success.
The money we have raised is a great way to help finish off our anniversary year, which draws to a close at the end of January.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone from York Against Cancer, and our best wishes to all for a healthy, peaceful and prosperous new year.
