AS PEOPLE may or may not be aware, fracking (hydraulic fracturing) is going to become a reality if we do not try and stop it.

A large part of England has PEDLs (Petroleum Exploration Development Licenses) and beautiful Yorkshire has probably the most.

These licences have been bought by various petrochemical companies, Ineos being the company which has the most licences especially around Yorkshire.

I do not have a problem with the fact that we need to look at ways of producing our own energy but fracking should not be one of the options.

There is a lot of controversy about the actual process never mind the devastation on the landscape and wildlife.

If it becomes a reality our country will be one big gas field.

There are many different and greener forms of energy that we could produce without literally poisoning our planet.

If fracking is such a wonderful way to go then how come all the countries around England (as well as others in parts of Europe and America) have banned it? The one crucial point I wish to make about Ineos is that they would not frack for domestic gas (to supply our homes), the gas (if any is found) will be piped away and made into plastics.

As we all know the abundance of excessive plastic is now a major issue and a massive threat to the world.

I urge people to do their own research and see for themselves.
