A MAN was rescued from the River Ouse in York last night.
Police were were called to reports of a man in the river near Skeldergate Bridge at about 9.45pm.
North Yorkshire fire service's York boat crew and fire crews from Acomb were sent to the scene.
A police spokeswoman said attempts were made to remove the man from the river through throwing lines and buoyancy aids, and he was helped to safety at 9.57pm.
He was taken by ambulance to York Hospital and was later discharged, the spokeswoman added.
