STAMFORD Bridge Library will close for refurbishment on Tuesday, January 9 at 7pm, and will reopen on Thursday, February 1, at 2pm.

The work will include repainting the main and staff areas of the library and public toilet areas, and replaceflooring.

In addition, a community space for customers will also be created.

During the closure, the nearest alternative library will be at the Pocklington Pocela Centre. There will also be mobile libraries at Full Sutton on January 17 from 11.45 am – 12.15 pm, and at Wilberfoss on January 23 from 1pm -5pm.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “There will be no overdue charges for items borrowed from this library during the closure period. Books can be returned to any East Riding library or renewed online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/catalogue.”
