Scene of desertion after market closed JUST what, I wonder, did the many visitors think when they arrived in the centre of this great city to see the sights and do their Christmas shopping on the busiest Saturday before Christmas, only to be greeted with a scene of desertion.
Just the other side of the huts which should have been filled with lovely things to buy? Yes, the pavements were simply heaving with eager shoppers.
We heard many comments made by visitors and, believe me, they weren’t complimentary!
